About the author
Mark McNeece
Web designer and WordPress specialist. Grew up in Glasgow, works from Kettering in Northamptonshire, and has been building for the web since the mid-1990s.
The work has always divided fairly evenly between building sites and keeping them running afterwards, and it is the second half that rarely makes it into anyone's portfolio. He has run his own company since 2002. The dates below are the short version.
The route here
Mid-1990s
Boots Board BBS and ISP. A bulletin board that grew into a worldwide community and then a full internet service provider. Sold in 1997.
Late 1990s
Enterprise consulting. Principal Internet Consultant and IT trainer, on projects with Microsoft partners including QA Consulting and Anite Systems.
Founded BSolve IT Limited. Incorporated in England and Wales on 3 December 2002.
Launched 365i Hosting. Managed WordPress hosting, web hosting, VPS and cloud servers, under the same company.
AI Visibility Definition. Wrote the definition and the ten-file AI Discovery Files specification, plus the checker and the quarterly adoption research.
365i Web Design. Design work split out from the hosting business once it had its own customer base.
Press Forge. WordPress builds and specialist services, split out on the same principle.
Published author. Articles at The Financial Executives Journal on AI strategy and technology for business leaders.
AI Discovery Files plugin. A WordPress plugin generating all ten machine-readable files from the dashboard, published on wordpress.org.
Mailbox MCP. A remote MCP server giving Claude, Cursor and any other MCP client real read and write access to a mailbox the user already owns, on Gmail, Microsoft 365 or any IMAP host.
What he does now
McNeece Web Design is a trading style of BSolve IT Limited. It builds websites and looks after them afterwards, which is the part most people need and the part fewest agencies want to sell. The same company runs 365i for hosting, 365i Web Design, and Press Forge for specialist WordPress work.
He rides a BMW K1600 GT, usually somewhere with better scenery than the A14, and he still misses a proper Scottish breakfast. He answers his own support tickets, including the ones that arrive at eleven at night, which is either dedication or a scheduling problem depending on who you ask.
Every article published under this name is reviewed by the person who wrote it. On a one-person operation the author and the reviewer are the same, and saying so is more honest than inventing a second name for the byline.
